The Sons are here to help promote The American Legion and their programs. If you have a son or grandson, please think about signing them up. You, as a member of the Legion, can also become a member, if your father or grandfather is a veteran. If they are still alive, they need to be a member of the Legion or if they are deceased, you can still join under their eligibility. So, think about becoming a dual member, several of us at the post are. Right now, membership is only $25 a year. We held our last meeting on Oct. 17th. The squadron is doing well with 28 new or renewed members for 2025. That puts us at 112% of our 2025 membership goal. During the meeting we welcomed and initiated two new members, Layne and Jerry Teague. Layne is from Forest Grove and Jerry lives in Vancouver.
We are trying to plan some events. One was an Army/Navy football watch party, but there is a district meeting that day and Hillsboro Post #6 is having a ham dinner that night. Maybe next year. We are planning our second annual BINGO night. We are thinking Feb. 8th, but more to come on that. We will keep the cost at $25, auxiliary to offer food at a small cost before the event.
